I never met my Grandfather and I wish I had. He was a marble sculptor, painter, pastel artist, inventor, and gifted at playing the pipe organ which he did every Sunday at church. He lived in Pennsylvania. I am honored to have a small sketchbook of his from the late 1800's. It is filled with drawings of landscapes, people, ideas for inventions, mystical poetry, letter drafts, and musings on life. One of the things I did this past week is scan the pages of his sketchbook and begin fixing them up in Photoshop. This is one of them. It is called "On the Brandywine". I am also posting what the original scan looked like with stains and crumbled edges.
